Launch Of Gp Recruitment Campaign - Part of commitment to appoint 800 family doctors
A new campaign to recruit more GPs to come to Scotland has been launched.   The initiative includes targeted print and digital advertising and is part of the Scottish Government's commitment to increase the number of GPs by 800 by 2027.

Monthly GDP Estimates For April
Scotland's onshore GDP decreased by -0.5% in April, according to statistics announced by the Chief Statistician.  Output remains above the pre-pandemic level of February 2020, by 0.6%.

Director of Manchester pizza takeaway who fraudulently claimed £20,000 Bounce Back Loan has been jailed for 2 years.   Abdulrazag Zagroba, 54, from Manchester, appeared at Manchester Crown Court on Friday 24 June 2022 where he was sentenced to 24 months before Recorder Hudson.

Britain is beset by persistent economic gaps between different parts of the country, and addressing them requires investment in its major cities on a scale not currently being contemplated, according to new joint Resolution Foundation / LSE research for the Economy 2030 Inquiry, funded by the Nuffield Foundation.   Incomes Outcomes - published today (Monday) – examines the scale of Britain's income gaps between places and how they’ve changed over time, while Bridging the gap – published on Thursday – examines the productivity gaps that lie behind these stark spatial inequalities.

Recorded Crime In Scotland: 2021-2022
Scotland's Chief Statistician today released Recorded Crime in Scotland, 2021-22.   Between 2020-21 and 2021-22: Crimes recorded by the police in Scotland decreased by 4%, from 299,452 to 286,464.
