Pupils from Wick, Thurso and Farr High Schools are expected to attend, and people from the wider community are invited to the event including parents/carers and adults who are looking for ideas and support.
Each exhibitor will have their own display area and attendees will be free to visit as many organisations as they want, talk to their representatives and take home information and advice. A wide range of courses, jobs and training opportunities will be represented across many sectors including the armed services, police, construction, local apprenticeships, chartered surveyors, dental nursing, hospitality, hairdressing, motor industry, volunteering and many more.
All fourth, fifth and sixth-year pupils in the area will receive a Workbook to help them prepare and make the most of the Careers Convention.
Programmes will also be available for those who want to turn up on the day. This gives a floor plan and reference guide to make it quick and easy to locate the people to whom you want to talk.
Careers Scotland advisers will also be on hand to provide impartial careers information, also information on the wide range of career planning services that Careers Scotland can offer to help individuals achieve their career goals and aspirations. Visitors can make a follow up appointment with a Careers Scotland Adviser, who use various venues in the Sutherland area.
