Opportunity For Highland Businesses To Visit Boston

Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE) is offering five ambitious local businesses the chance to win a place at a sponsors week with a top Boston research and technology facility.

In a tie up with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), HIE is asking interested businesses to outline how access to the top notch research and development 'Media Lab' could boost their opportunities. The five with the most convincing reasons will secure a place.

Businesses most likely to benefit from the visit would be those hoping to use technology to develop new products; wishing to use the internet to expand their trade opportunities to a wider market or as a research tool; involved in engineering, the creative industries, health or sustainable energy technology.

"The 'Media Lab' is at the forefront of cutting edge technological research and development and works with a variety of world renowned companies. It is a unique facility which brings together experts, scientists, researchers, industry and some of the most creative minds to find ways to come up with new ways of doing things. Highlands and Islands businesses which have attended before have found it hugely inspiring," said John MacKenzie of HIE.

The closing date for entries is the 14th of September 2009 with the trip taking place 12-16 October 2009.
