Thurso Heritage Society has recently published a 30th Anniversary calendar featuring twelve photographs of the town as it was from the late 1800s until the 1940s. The limited edition calendar priced at 5 features the iconic image of Old St. Peters Church, parts of which date back to the Viking occupation of the county.

Chairman, Alan McIvor said "we have been working hard for the past 30 years in our own quiet way promoting and protecting our town's history and culture. By purchasing this calendar, not only are you purchasing a little bit of history but helping support our town. All money raised will go towards the charity. It's also an ideal Christmas gift for sending abroad to friends and relations as a reminder of their hometown. There will not be a second reprinting, so once it's gone, its gone."

"We are a non-profit organisation so any money raised goes towards other community projects with a historical theme. We have a few exciting ones planned for next year, which we are looking forward into getting started."

Thurso Heritage Society has many new exciting projects, which we are hoping to carry out. If you want to get involved, meet new friends, and learn more about your local history or where your ancestors lived then we are the ideal place to start. We can be contacted through the website. Calendars are available on site through the following local retailers: Reids Cafe, D. Sinclair, Jim Bews, Tickity Boo, Newsbeat, Cards & Things, J. Mackay's, Temptations, The Kiln Store, Pentland Hotel and the Station Hotel.
