In recognition of the growing complexity of IT systems and the increasing sophistication of e-business software applications, Naver Technology Ltd (Navertech), the Thurso based E-Business specialist, has appointed a dedicated IT consultant to provide support to existing and new customers.

Steve Trezise (47) is a Cornishman who moved north a year ago and now lives with his wife in Bower. Previously, he was involved in IT trouble-shooting and adult learning - teaching business personnel new IT skills and updating their existing IT skills.

David McGillivray, Navertech's operations director said, "Steve is an IT consultant of the highest calibre, who likes to keep things simple and is able to effectively communicate with the most inexperienced computer user. We are delighted to welcome him onboard".

Steve, for his part, is excited at the prospect of a new challenge. Having started his career as a professional diver, he is used to getting folk out of deep water! Steve said, "For some business owners and managers computers are a bit of a mystery, others often don't make the most of what they can do". He continued, "My role is to offer advice, technical support and training, on-demand, when and where required. There will be no formal service contracts or prescribed courses".

Technical support embraces purchase advice, installations and maintenance of hardware and software. Hardware may be a single computer or a complete network. Software includes both standard and bespoke applications. To support this initiative, Navertech has developed a special online, interactive, problem solving service, which their business computer users can access and often overcome problems instantly.

Training covers all Microsoft Office and Sage Accountancy software applications. Lapses in memory can often be overcome by telephone or e-mail support. A lack of knowledge may need more support which can be delivered one-to-one or in small groups, accompanied by free courseware.

Navertech www.navertech.com focuses on the creation of bespoke software, multimedia and communications applications. It provides products and services to businesses of all sizes, charities, community organisations, public agencies and government departments throughout the UK.
