Preparing for 4G at 800 MHz

18th September 2014

John Thurso has recently been contacted by at800 who will shortly be carrying out specific activities in the constituency to ensure TV viewers, including the elderly and vulnerable, can continue to watch Freeview as new 4G mobile services at 800 MHz are activated.

The company will also send postcards to some constituents to inform them that new 4G masts operating at 800 MHz may soon be activated and that there is a very small possibility these new mobile signals may disrupt Freeview.

at800 are encouraging any viewers who experience new problems with their Freeview, such as pixelation, loss of sound or channels, to contact them either via their website www.at800.tv or by phone on 0333 31 31 800 (best from mobiles) or 0808 13 13 800 (free from landlines). They can then check whether the issue might be due to 4G at 800 MHz, and if so, resolve the problem.

For residents in buildings with a communal aerial system - where the antenna or aerial is not their responsibility, at800 provides landlords or property managers with support to resolve the problem.

Television received via cable or satellite is not affected.
