AN excellent range of one-bedroom and studio flats with affordable rents are available now at Caberfeidh Court in Wick. Cairn Housing Association has 36 high quality properties that are available exclusively to people over 50 years of age. As it is situated off the main road on the outskirts of town, this peaceful development is surrounded by a large private garden.

For people who enjoy gardening they can join in with the planting and maintenance of the garden with help from Caberfeidh's gardener. There is also ample private parking with fantastic views over the North Sea and surrounding coastline. This first class accommodation consists of both studio and one-bedroom flats which are ideal for anyone wanting to downsize from larger homes, enabling them to be free from any worries of losing out financially as a result of the "bedroom tax".

Residents can enjoy a range of activities with their neighbours and friends as there is an active social scene throughout the
year. There is a large common room for tenants and visitors to have fun, with events such as morning tea, lunch clubs, games, film nights, Wii games, parties, karaoke and meals. If it is a quieter life that you seek Caberfeidh can also be a place where you can relax and unwind and enjoy some quiet time.

Pets are also welcome which means you can take your pet with you if you decide to join the residents. One of the residents at Caberfeidh Court is delighted with the living arrangements. "I really enjoy living here, there is always company if I want it. It is very affordable accommodation and very convenient for the bus into town for me. “My flat is lovely and very affordable to heat. Great company from the other tenants but also private enough if I need it.

There is also easy access around the Court and a lift in the building which is very handy for me."

The flats are all self-contained with their own kitchen and bathroom. The heating in the flats has recently been updated to link into the biomass district heating supply. New radiators have been installed in all flats and throughout the communal areas. The cost for heating is very reasonable at £22 a month for a studio flat and £29.39 for a one-bedroom flat; this covers heating and hot water and is collected as part of the rent.

New kitchens will soon be fitted to many of the flats. This upgrade will bring a fresh, modern look to the flats and will consist of quality new worktops, units and flooring. Existing residents will be invited to choose the colour of doors and worktops in their kitchens to allow for that personal touch. Caberfeidh Court is also able to offer residents peace of mind over security
with a door entry system installed at the entrance to the building. Staff are on site from Monday to Friday, with the Court coordinator being able to offer advice and help with rent issues, settling in and any other housing issues.

A cleaning assistant ensures the communal areas of the Court are kept clean and tidy and a handyperson/gardener helps maintain the Court and the garden. There are also excellent laundry facilities on site for washing and drying.

Caberfeidh Court has its own in-house repairs service, HomeWorks, ensuring any repairs to your home are dealt with within
strict timescales. If repairs or other emergency issues happen outside of normal working hours you can call a dedicated
24-hour line.
