Managing Rushes Without Chemicals, Thursday 3rd March, Caithness

5th February 2016

Managing Rushes Without Chemicals, Thursday 3rd March, Caithness (second meeting) kindly supported by Caithness Wetlands and Wildlife Initiative.

A practical one day workshop on controlling rushes without chemicals. This follows on from a successful meeting in November that explored different control options on farms with important habitat for wading birds. You do not need to have been at the first meeting to attend this meeting.

This meeting will:
· Review the most important lessons learned so far from the rushes field lab project
· Focus on reseeding and grass seed mixes, looking at practical examples on-farm (weather permitting)
· Include tips on agri-environmental management
· End with a question and answer session with our rushes expert - please come armed with a question from your own farm!

A light lunch will be included. Booking is essential so that lunch resource packs can be provided. Free of charge to farmers and land managers and £40.00 plus VAT to others.
