OVERNIGHT ROAD CLOSURE FOR A9 CROMARTY BRIDGE

9th April 2016

OVERNIGHT ROAD CLOSURE FOR A9 CROMARTY BRIDGE.
MOVED FROM SATURDAY TO SUNDAY 10 APRIL 2016, 5AM - 10AM.

Please be advised that the planned overnight road closure for the A9 Cromarty Bridge, detailed in the release below, has been delayed slightly due to work taking longer than anticipated and will now take place on Sunday 10 April between 5am and 10am.

The reschedule of the bridge closure will allow time for teams to complete the final stages of the rock armour placement around the piers of the bridge ahead of the final barge manoeuvre underneath the bride deck.

The closure of the bridge is necessary for safety as a large 50 tonne crane is required to assist in moving the barge underneath Cromarty Bridge.

All diversions and traffic management will remain the same, with a signed diversion route in place from Tore Roundabout to Ardullie Roundabout via the A862 through Dingwall and vice versa.
All relevant stakeholders including the Emergency Services and transport operators have been notified of the change in closure times.

Real time journey information is available from Traffic Scotland on www.trafficscotland.org or twitter @trafficscotland.
