Reaching customers overseas - Caithness event

Local business support organisations in Caithness are coming together on Thursday 12th May 2016 in Thurso to host an event as part of an ongoing initiative to help local businesses find out about, and harness, the support available to do business overseas.
Entitled ‘Reaching Customers Overseas', the event will take place at Caithness Horizons between 1-4pm.
The Highland Council’s Enterprise Europe Network and Business Gateway services, the Inverness Chamber of Commerce, Highlands and Islands Enterprise, and Scottish Development International will be running the event.
The event will feature a video case study showcasing the unique ways in which each of the partner organisations can assist local businesses and stalls from the partners with further information and resources. There will also be a guest speaker, Martin Murray from Dunnet Bay Distillers to talk about how they are Internationalising and the types of support they are tapping into.
There will also be the opportunity to book one-to-one appointments to get advice specific to their business.
Martin Murray said: "Our business started life with no experience in exporting and a cautious ambition to export our products in the long term. With the support from EEN, HIE, SDI , and the Chamber of Commerce we have turned that on its head and we now thrive on exporting our products. We've been able to develop a strategy, source partners and make excellent sales. The support has removed the worry for exporting and reduced the risk."

The Highland Council is delighted to confirm a highly successful second year for Public Service Obligation (PSO) flights between Wick and Aberdeen.
