Beatrice Gets Ready For Recruitment Drive

31st July 2016

SSE has chosen UK energy recruitment outfits ERSG and Taylor Hopkinson Associates (THA) to source contract professionals for the 588MW Beatrice offshore wind farm off the Caithness and Moray Coasts.

The duo will start delivering workers over the coming months. A further two as-yet unnamed companies are also providing recruitment services as part of a framework deal.

Construction work at the outer Moray Firth site will start next year and commissioning is expected in 2019.

"This award further builds on our proven ability to deliver high quality candidates to offshore wind projects and partner with the major players in the market and we look forward to supporting SSE building the Beatrice windfarm," ERSG director
Lucien Sullivan said.

THA executive consultant Ashley Harrington added: "We look forward to working closely with SSE over the coming years and delivering a high level service as always."

Wick Harbour is to be the operations and maintenance base for the project and a big influx of workers from Caithness and beyond will in coming months begin to make many changes in the harbour area. Never since the herring days will Wick have seen so much activity as has been in the last 18 months with schools, nuclear archive, council offices to be followed by construction and follow on work in the harbour area. Already many other smaller businesses have been making investments due to the incoming work.
