Festive Period dates for on-sales extended hours

6th September 2016

The Highland Licensing Board has agreed upon dates over the festive period 2016/17 between which extended on-sales hours may be permitted so the Council is advising licence holders wishing to apply to do so before the deadline of 1 December.

The extended on-sale hours, if approved, can be up to 4am for late opening premises and up to 2am for other on-sales premises in accordance with the Board's Licensing Policy Statement.

The dates which the Board may allow such extended on-sales hours are:

From Friday 9 December 2016 (allowing extensions to licensed hours commencing Friday 9 December into Saturday 10 December) to Tuesday 3rd January 2017 (allowing extensions to licensed hours commencing on Monday 2nd January into Tuesday 3rd January only).

Applications for Festive Period extended hours should be made by no later than 1 December 2016. No guarantee can be given that applications received after that date will be processed in time.

Applications should be made online at: www.highland.gov.uk and follow the links through the "services" section to licences.

Licence holders of premises which have a seasonal variation permitting extended opening during the festive period are reminded that it is a condition of their licence that, prior to 1st December 2016, they must notify the Board and the police of the dates on which they intend to take advantage of extended hours.
