First ScotRail 'January Sale' - Travel anywhere in Scotland for £15 return If aged 55 or over

First ScotRail has launched a January sale for those aged 55 or over.

Its fantastic 'Club 55' ticket offer - travel anywhere in Scotland for just £15 return - went live on 21st January and runs all the way to 31st March 2008. Tickets are on sale now.

The offer is especially good news for people who want to visit family and friends or see a bit of Scotland when it's quieter. A trip to Caithness from anywhere in Scotland is very afforable with this offer.

There's a lot going on around Scotland at this time of year including:

Glasgow - The Glasgow Film Festival runs from 14 to 24 February with a programme that stretches from silent cinema to the best new films from the Hollywood studios

Edinburgh - The Southern Light Opera Company performs the Rodgers & Hammerstein classic, The King and I at The King's Theatre from 4 to 8 March

Aberdeen - The feel-good musical Starlight Express opens at His Majesty's Theatre from 22 January to 9 February

Inverness - The Inverness Music Festival takes centre stage at various venues across the city from 18 February to 6 March

Club 55 £15 flat fare tickets are valid on all train services within Scotland and available for all customers aged 55 or over.

Customers can also treat themselves to First Class travel with a Club 55 Premier ticket for only £19 return on routes between Edinburgh/Glasgow and Aberdeen and between Aberdeen and Inverness.

Peter Williams, commercial director at First ScotRail said: "We are delighted to launch our Club 55 offer in January for the first time.

"Many thousands of people took advantage of the offer last time around and we expect a repeat because of this great value for money option.
