Overnight showers soon dying out then most places will have a dry and bright day with some sunshine. There will a few light showers on the West Coast becoming more frequent this evening. Staying cold with light winds. Maximum temperature 4 °C.

Tonight:
Cloudy with heavy rain preceded by snow on high ground extending northeastwards, reaching all parts early tonight. Rain will give way to clearer conditions and blustery showers later. Becoming windy. Minimum temperature 1 °C.

Sunday 20 Feb:
Sunny intervals and blustery showers, heavy at times and turning wintry on high ground. Westerly winds increasing strong to gale force with severe gales affecting West Coast during evening. Maximum temperature 9 °C.

Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:
Drier, brighter weather on Monday with winds easing down. Windy weather returning on Tuesday with rain followed by blustery showers. Heavy showers on Wednesday turning wintry later.
