Coronavirus (covid-19): Daily Data For Scotland - 10 March 2022 - Deaths Rise Again

14,387 new cases of COVID-19 reported.

41 new reported deaths of people who have tested positive.

22 people were in intensive care yesterday with recently confirmed COVID-19.

1,636 people were in hospital yesterday with recently confirmed COVID-19.

4,439,451 people have received their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccination, 4,165,704 have received their second dose, and 3,459,127 have received a third dose or booster.

on 10 March, 41 new reported death(s) of people who have tested positive*.

in the week ending 6 March, 110 deaths were registered where COVID-19 was on the death certificate.

Since the start of the outbreak:

10,947 people have died who have tested positive as at 10 March*.

13,429 deaths have been registered in Scotland where COVID-19 was mentioned on the death certificate up to 6 March.

29% of COVID-19 registered deaths related to deaths in care homes, 64% were in hospitals and 7% were at home or non-institutional settings (as at 6 March).

*Please note that an additional 13,774 historic positive cases have been included in today's cumulative total number of cases. These are Lateral Flow (LFD) tests that were reported via the Scottish Government LFD Portal between 6 January 2022 and today. Public Health Scotland has estimated that this update has also added 8 historic deaths to today's newly reported deaths figure.

1,636 people were in hospital yesterday with recently confirmed COVID-19*; of these, 22 were in intensive care.

in addition, yesterday 10 confirmed COVID-19 patients were in intensive care longer than 28 days.

in the week ending 6 March, 893 patients with confirmed COVID-19 were admitted to hospital.

in the week ending 9 March, 14 patients with confirmed COVID-19 were admitted to intensive care.

34,550 inpatients who tested positive for COVID-19 have been discharged from hospital since 5 March 2020.

as at 9 March, 1,623 people were delayed in hospital.

*NHS Boards started to include patients with possible reinfections from 7 March 2022.
