5,545 new cases of COVID-19 reported.

44 new reported deaths of people who have tested positive.

24 people were in intensive care yesterday with recently confirmed COVID-19.

2,380 people were in hospital yesterday with recently confirmed COVID-19.

4,364,117 people have received their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccination, 4,095,979 have received their second dose, and have 3,455,971 received a third dose or booster.

on 5 April, 44 new reported death(s) of people who have tested positive.

in the week ending 27 March, 192 deaths were registered where COVID-19 was on the death certificate.

Since the start of the outbreak:

11,551 people have died who have tested positive as at 5 April.

13,885 deaths have been registered in Scotland where COVID-19 was mentioned on the death certificate up to 27 March.

29% of COVID-19 registered deaths related to deaths in care homes, 63% were in hospitals and 7% were at home or non-institutional settings (as at 27 March).

2,380 people were in hospital yesterday with recently confirmed COVID-19; of these, 24 were in intensive care.

in addition, yesterday 5 confirmed COVID-19 patients were in intensive care longer than 28 days.

in the week ending 31 March, 1,268 patients with confirmed COVID-19 were admitted to hospital.

in the week ending 4 April, 41 patients with confirmed COVID-19 were admitted to intensive care.

38,891 inpatients who tested positive for COVID-19 have been discharged from hospital since 5 March 2020.

as at 30 March, 1,683 people were delayed in hospital.
