Prime heifers (8) averaged 249.4p (- 2.9p) and sold to 263.0p per kg and £1,657.70 gross.

Prime heifers (8) averaged 249.4p (-2.9p) and sold to 263.0p per kg for a 585kg Charolais cross from Kincraig farm and selling to John M Munro Ltd, Dingwall and £1,657.70 gross for a 685kg Limousin cross from Bridgend Farm, Dingwall.

"Another solid fat cattle sale was seen here in Dingwall. More well fleshed butcher types were around this week which helped trade to be a touch sharper."

Old season lambs (593) averaged 254.6p (+5.2p) and sold to 295.6p for a Pair of 45kg Beltex Crosses from Torgorm, Conon Bridge and £154 gross for a 70kg Beltex Cross from 25 Camult Muir, Kiltarlity.
Feeding sheep (162) sold to £180 gross for a Texel ewe from The Cloy, Fortrose.

“The first of the new season lambs were seen the market this week and met a firm enquiry and many more could have been sold. Hogg trade would be sharper on the week as umbers continued to heighten nationwide. Leaner sorts however are becoming distanced from the well fleshed sorts so it is advisable to not draw them to lean.”
