DINGWALL., Dingwall and Highlands Marts Ltd., (September 8th) sold 10,011 Store lambs.
Cheviot wedder lambs (7,521) averaged £59.31 and sold to £86 gross from Tulloch Farm, Bonar Bridge.
Cheviot ewe lambs (1,699) averaged £58.03 and sold to £108 gross from Pabbay Farm, Isle of Pabbay.
All other breeds (791) averaged £72.34 and sold to £88 gross for a Beltex cross from No 1 Wester Alligan, Torridon.
"The rain has appeared just in time, which subsequently led to more buyers being present from all over the UK and more eager to obtain lambs than at the last sale. Trade would be slightly easier on the year; however, lambs would be smaller and not presented in the same bloom. Top draw cheviot Wedders met a firm enquiry as too did the 3rd and 4th draw, which look the dearest commodity on the market."
