International engineering firm Enterprise Engineering Services (EES), which has a base in Caithness, is one of the first fabrication companies to achieve the Welding Fabricator Certification Scheme accreditation, BS EN ISO 3834. This demonstrates EES' capabilities for high integrity welding.

Awarded to the company's Aberdeen site, the accreditation is designed to enable welding fabricators to demonstrate compliance with ‘Quality Requirements for Welding’, which is a particular requirement of projects such as decommissioning or high pressure environments.

Accredited by UKAS, and awarded by TWI CL, certification provides independent verification of a company's welding and fabricating capabilities, in-line with European and International Standards.

With a base Aberdeen and Caithness, EES is committed to servicing its clients and staff to the highest degree; a factor recognised earlier in the year following a health and safety and environmental management accreditation at its Caithness facility.

During 2015, EES was also awarded the Factory Production Control (FPC) certificate, recognising its approved documented systems, training and qualifications, equipment and procedures to comply with EN ISO 1090.

Combined, the recent accreditations brings a sharp competitive edge for EES, by preventing trade barriers and opening up international markets, enhancing business processes and reducing negative impact on the environment.

Andy Scott, managing director of EES says, "This accreditation signifies our continued dedication to improving our standards and overall client experience. To be one of the first Scottish companies to achieve the accreditation is extremely encouraging and reiterates to our clients that they are working with a market leader of the highest standard."

Chris Eady, Chief Executive of TWI CL, also comments, "The whole point in the BS EN ISO 3834 is that it puts competency at the centre of welding quality. Certification acts as a mark of quality for the welding provider awarded."

EES is an Aberdeen based company that provides worldwide services across the engineering spectrum, with a technical and design services division in Caithness. The firm works in the oil and gas, utilities, nuclear and renewable markets. The company employs 246 people at its offices, on-site projects and offshore at client facilities. EES acquired Caithness-based Mowat Technical and Design from administration in 2013, enabling the company to continue with its plans for considerable expansion, providing the firm with additional specialist expertise and allowing it to penetrate new markets and maintain its strategic growth plans in the future.
