UK Regulator Strengthens Opioid Warnings
Stronger warnings about the risk of dependence and addiction to be added to the patient information leaflet and discussed with patients. People who take prescribed or over-the-counter medicines containing opioids for non-cancer pain will now be given stronger warnings about the risk of dependence and addiction, the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) announced today.

Highlands And Islands MSPs Back The Keep Me Posted Campaign
Rhoda Grant and David Stewart, Scottish Labour's MSPs for the Highlands and Islands region have pledged to constituents that they are still here to help and those who wish do to so are able to contact them by mail or over the phone, despite regional offices remaining closed due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The MSPs were contacted by the consumer campaign, Keep Me Posted, which aims to ensure that consumers who do not have access to the internet or who just prefer to receive bills or mail by post are able to do so, for an assurance that constituents can still contact their MSPs by post.

Covid-19 Spending Reaches £6.5bn in Scotland - UK Chancellor Cancels Autumn Budget
A further £2.5 billion has been allocated by the Scottish Government in response to coronavirus (COVID-19). The Autumn Budget Revision (ABR) for 2020-21 brings the total committed so far to dealing with the pandemic to more than £6.5 billion.

Scots And German Renewables Groups To Collaborate On Offshore Wind And Hydrogen
Renewable energy industry groups in Scotland and Germany are joining forces to boost the production of both offshore wind energy and green hydrogen. The north of Scotland's offshore wind cluster organisation, DeepWind, has today (Wednesday 23 September 2020) signed a three-year memorandum of understanding (MoU) with its German counterpart, WAB.

Horrendous Waiting Lists For Mental Health In Caithness
Highlands and Islands Labour MSP, Rhoda Grant, has found that people with complex mental health problems who need psychology services can sometimes wait nearly two years for appointments.
