DINGWALL, Dingwall & Highland Marts Ltd., (August, 7th) sold 9,164 store lambs at an average of £69.14 (up £10.21 on the year).   Beltex (1,355) averaged £69.59 and sold to £94 gross from Simpsons Croft, Scotsburn.

Andorra, Belgium And The Bahamas To Be Removed From Travel Corridors List
Update to foreign travel public health requirements.   Passengers from Belgium, Andorra and the Bahamas will be required to self-isolate at home or another specified address for 14 days on arrival in Scotland and England from Saturday, following a significant increase in the number of cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) in those countries.

Bank forecasts significantly stronger than in May
Although the Bank of England on Thursday upgraded its forecasts for GDP significantly, its projections still suggest the UK has experienced one of the largest economic hits among rich countries, the Resolution Foundation said on Thursday in response to the Bank's Monetary Policy Report.   The Bank notes that in its central case - in which a rapid recovery is underway this quarter - the economy is still expected to shrink by 9.5 per cent this year.

Success achieved by school communities across Highland towards young people's education, wellbeing and skills
Members at yesterday's (6 August) meeting of Education Committee, heard about the success of schools across Highland communities and, specifically, drivers of success from Highland Head Teachers from Portree High, Dingwall Academy, Thurso High, Kingussie High, and St Clement's School in Dingwall.   Chair of the Education Committee, Councillor John Finlayson, said: "The achievements and resilience of our young people across the Highlands has to be congratulated along with the positive results we have heard about today.

Drivers urged to slow down near schools
The Highland Council and Police Scotland are urging drivers to slow down near schools as term starts next week across Highland and pupils return to schools from 12th August onward.   Highland Council is warning parents and pupils that part time flashing 20mph signs around Highland Schools will not be operating as normal - due to a technical error caused by inactivity of the signs over the long period of lockdown.
