There's still time to apply for a course starting at UHI North, West and Hebrides in late January, with a limited number of free places on a range of postgraduate and undergraduate upskilling short courses.   The college has more than 100 courses to choose from in January, including a range of full-time and part-time courses at further education, higher education, and postgraduate level, providing options for people leaving school, looking to get back into work, change careers or upskill.  
Two New Board Members Wanted For Highlands And Islands Enterprise
People with a strong commitment to the future of the Highlands and Islands are being invited to apply to join the board of the region's development agency.   Scottish Ministers are looking to fill two non-executive director positions on the Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE) Board, with the new appointees expected to start three-year terms in April.

NatWest's Sir Howard Davies, was asked by BBC Radio 4's Today programme when it would be easier for people in the UK to get on the property ladder and in response he said: "I don't think it is that difficult".   NatWest's chairman has sparked a backlash after claiming it was not "that difficult" to get on the property ladder in the UK today - and Brits are not happy.
