CNSF Receives NDA Next Instalment Of £300K
The Caithness & North Sutherland Fund (CNSF), a grant body funded by the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA), received its second instalment of £300k at a recent stakeholder event held in the new low level waste repository vault at the Dounreay site. This funding is the latest instalment of the NDA's £4M community benefit package being provided via DSRL.

Caithness Chamber Call for Businesses To Get In Touch Re Broadband Rollout
Caithness Chamber of Commerce has been set into action following announcments about the rollout of rual braodband as Caithness will not see any benefit for some time yet. Caithness & North Sutherland Fund Latest Grant Awards!
The Caithness & North Sutherland Fund recently held its 3rd grant assessment round for 2013 awarding over £109K to ten community and voluntary groups for projects that will benefit people living in the Caithness & North Sutherland area. The grant body which is funded by the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority currently assesses applications quarterly and the closing date for the next assessment round is the 1st of November 2013.

Grant Body Awards £118K in Latest Round!
The Caithness & North Sutherland Fund recently held its 6th grant assessment round awarding £118K to seven community and voluntary groups for projects that will benefit people living in the Caithness & North Sutherland area. This latest round of awards brings the Fund’s total funding commitment to over £648K, of which forty seven voluntary and community groups have benefited.

Caithness Chamber funds retraining for subsea sector at The Underwater Centre
The first graduate to come through The Underwater Centre’s Fort William-based subsea training facility as a result of a Caithness Chamber of Commerce-led funding initiative has already secured a job in the industry. Kevin Macleod (30), of Caithness, who was working as an instrument technician with Johnson Controls at Dounreay until recently, has been taken on as an apprentice ROV pilot technician with Fugro, one of the world’s largest ROV operators.25/3/2013

At today’s Caithness and Sutherland Area Committee members awarded Pulteneytown People’s project £90,506 from the Deprived Area Fund which will be used to provide services to local people through the Advice Centre. This will be used to support the work of the one-stop shop to provide local people help and advice with benefits, staying on at school, re-training, housing issues and applying for jobs.22/9/2012

The new Caithness District Partnership will meet in full for the second time on Friday 28 September, as part of the new arrangements under the Planning for Integration (P4i) partnership between the NHS and The Highland Council.
