UK Government Borrowing continues to undershoot forecast
Government borrowing in August 2021 was £20.5 billion, down £5.5 billion from the same month last year.   Year to date borrowing of £93.8 billion is now £31.9 billion below our March forecast profile.

Investors Pledge Almost £10bn At UK Global Investment Summit
At least 30,000 new jobs will be created around the UK thanks to £9.7 billion of new foreign investment.   The Prime Minister will announce today [Tuesday 19 October 2021] that deals worth £9.7bn have been secured at the Global Investment Summit.

New powers will incentivise other countries to co-operate with the removal of those who have no right to be in the UK.   The Home Secretary will be granted new powers to impose visa penalties on countries that refuse to take back their own citizens who have no right to be in the UK, under new reforms in the Nationality and Borders Bill announced on Friday 15 October 2021.

Summary Of Updates To International Travel, October 2021
Changes made to international travel rules during October 2021.   Statement by Grant Shapps MP As trailed in my Oral Statement on 20 September, as of the 4 October, we have.: replaced the traffic light system with a single red list and simplified travel measures for eligible arrivals from the rest of the world based on passengers' vaccination status removed the requirement for eligible fully vaccinated passengers to take a pre-departure test, providing that they are arriving into England from a non-red list country or territory and have not been to a red list country or territory in the last 10 days - the Devolved Administrations have also aligned on this policy.
