Dunnet Bay Distillers Unveils Its New Creative Collection Gin Series

KICKING OF WITH THE CLOOTIE DUMPLING GIN.
The UK's most northerly mainland distillery, Dunnet Bay Distillers, has announced the launch of a new Creative Collection Series. This unique new range will feature Limited Edition adaptations of the multi award-winning Rock Rose Gin, with new recipes and stunning labels that showcase the work of local artists based in the Scottish Highlands.
First up is the Clootie Dumpling Gin, with the artwork and flavour inspired by this traditional Scottish pudding. Contemporary artist Lindsey Gallacher created the unique artwork on a scratchboard layered with china clay and coated with India ink. The image, which shows a Caithness "wifey" making clootie dumplings in her kitchen, was then meticulously etched out using fine points and scalpels.
Lindsey's creativity sparks from her childhood growing up in Caithness and her illustration evokes memories of the traditional steamed Scottish pudding, laden with fruits and spices, which has been used as inspiration for the Clootie Dumpling Gin.
The gin is made in Elizabeth, the distillery’s traditional vapour infusion still, and features actual clootie dumplings, made by Co-Founder Claire’s mam, which are placed in the vapour basket along with juniper, raisins and the additional spices of nutmeg and allspice. The result is a traditional junipery gin with added notes of raisin, treacle and light spice - a clootie dumpling in a glass!

Our Clootie Dumpling Gin displays sherry notes from the raisins on the nose, with warming juniper, nutmeg, treacle and cinnamon on the pallet - delicious! We suggest serving with tonic and a slice of clementine."
The Clootie Dumpling Gin will be available for pre-sale from 29th November, priced at £30 for 500ml. Plus, look out for more launches in the Creative Collection in 2019!
