Roads and Infirmary Bridge closed for Loch Ness Marathon and Festival of Running

Motorists are being advised that in the interests of public safety during the Loch Ness Marathon, River Ness 10k Race and River Ness 5k Fun Run charity events taking place this Sunday 6th October 2019, various roads temporary closures and restrictions will be in place.

The Infirmary Bridge in Inverness will also be closed to pedestrians and cyclists on Sunday 6th October from 09:00 to 17:00.

The temporary road closures will affect vehicular traffic, but pedestrian access and access for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times. Alternative routes for vehicular traffic will be signposted during the periods of the closure.

The temporary road closures on Sunday 6th October 2019 are as follows:

B862 Fort Augustus - Whitebridge - Torness – Dores – Inverness Road closed at its junction with the Viewpoint to its junction with the B852 Dalcrag Bridge – Foyers – Inverfarigaig – Dores Road, from 07:00 to 11:00.

B852 Dalcrag Bridge – Foyers – Inverfarigaig – Dores Road closed at its junction with the B862 Fort Augustus – Whitebridge – Torness – Dores – Inverness Road to its junction with the C21 Inverfarigaig – Glenlia Road, from 09:45 to 11:30.

B852 Dalcrag Bridge – Foyers – Inverfarigaig – Dores Road closed at its junction with C21 Inverfarigaig – Glenlia Road to its junction with the U44 Foyers road, from 10:15 to 11:30.

B852 Dalcaig Bridge – Foyers – Inverfarigaig – Dores Road closed at its junction with the U44 Foyers Road to its junction with the C20 Inverfarigaig – Errogie Road, from 10:15 to 12:00.

B862 Fort Augustus – Whitebridge – Torness – Dores – Inverness Road closed to northbound traffic between its junction with the C10 Torbreck Road and its junction with the Holm Roundabout, from 10:15am to 10:50am and from 11:45 to 16:00.

B8082 Inverness Southern Distributor Road closed at its roundabout junction with Culduthel Road to its roundabout junction with the C10 Torbreck Road, from 10:40 to 10:55.

C16 Inverness – Ashie Moor Road closed at its junction with Holm road, inverness to its junction with the C10 Torbreck Road, from 10:40 to 11:30.

C10 Torbreck Road closed at its junction with the C16 Inverness – Ashie Moor Road to its junction with the B862 Fort Augustus – Whitebridge – Torness – Dores – Inverness Road, from 10:40 to 11:45.

B862 Fort Augustus – Whitebridge – Torness – Dores – Inverness Road closed to northbound traffic between its junction with Holm roundabout and its junction with the Ness Bank and Cavell Gardens Road, from 10:00 and 16:00. Vehicular access for southbound traffic will be maintained at all times.

Ness Bank and Cavell Gardens Road, Inverness, closed to through traffic between its junction with Castle Road and its junction with Island Bank Road, from 10:00 to 16:00. Access to local properties will be maintained, from the junction with Castle Road.

Castle Road, Inverness, closed to northbound traffic between its junction with Haugh Road and its junction with Bridge Street, from 10:00 to 16:00. Vehicular access for southbound traffic will be maintained at all times.

Bught Road, Inverness, closed at its junction with Bught Avenue to its conjunction with Ness Walk, from 08:00 to 19:00.

Ness Walk, Inverness, closed at its junction with Bught Road to its junction with Ballifeary Lane, from 08:00 to 19:00.

Bishop's Road, Inverness, closed to westbound traffic between its junction with Ness Walk and its junction with Ballifeary Road, from 09:50 to 10:45. Vehicular access to eastbound traffic will be maintained at all times.

Ballifeary Road, Inverness, closed between its junction with Bishop’s Road and its junction with Dunachton Road, from 09:50 to 10:45.

Bishop’s Road, Inverness, closed to southbound traffic between its junction with Ness Walk and its junction with Ardross Terrace, from 10:00 to 16:00. Vehicular access for northbound traffic will be maintained at all times.

Ness Walk, Inverness, closed at its junction with Young Street to its conjunction with Ardross Terrace, from 10:00 to 16:00.

Ardross Terrace, Inverness, closed at its conjunction with Ness Walk to its junction with Bishop’s Road, from 10:00 to 16:00.

Bught Drive, Inverness; single lane closure between its conjunction with Torvean Avenue and its conjunction with Bught Avenue, from 09:45 to 10:30.

Ballifeary Lane, Inverness, closed at its junction with Ness Walk to its junction with Springfield Gardens, from 09:55 to 10:10.

Springfield Gardens, Inverness, closed at its junction with Ballifeary Lane to its junction with Dunachton Road, from 09:55 to 10:15.

Dunachton Road, Inverness, closed at its junction with Springfield Gardens to its junction with Torvean Avenue, from 09:55 to 10:15.

Torvean Avenue, Inverness, closed at its junction with Dunachton Road to its junction with Bught Avenue, from 09:55 to 10:15.

Ness Bridge, Inverness; single lane closure of westbound carriageway, and footway closure (south side), between its junction with Castle Road and its junction with Castle Road and its junction with Ness Walk, from 10:00 to 16:00.

A8082 Inverness Southern Distributor Road closed to southbound traffic between Ness Side Roundabout and Holm Roundabout, from 10:30 to 14:30. Vehicular access for northbound traffic will be maintained at all times.

There will be a temporary 30 miles per hour speed limit on the southbound lane of the B862 Fort Augustus – Whitebridge – Torness – Dores – Inverness Road between its junction with Holm Roundabout and its junction with the B852 Dalcrag Bridge – Foyers – Inverfarigaig – Dores Road, from 10:15 to 16:00.

There will be a temporary 20 miles per hour speed limit on the southbound lane of the B862 Fort Augustus – Whitebridge – Torness – Dores – Inverness Road between its junction with Holm Roundabout and its junction with the Ness Bank and Cavell Gardens Road, from 10:00 to 16:00.
