Housing Prices In Highland - Latest ONS Report

The Price Index of Private Rents (PIPR) measures private rent inflation for new and existing tenancies. The UK House Price Index measures house price inflation.
The average house price in Highland was £203,000 in April 2024 (provisional), similar to the revised figure for April 2023. Across Scotland, the average house price rose by 4.5% over the same period.
The average price paid by first-time buyers was £163,000 in April 2024 (provisional). This was in line with the average in April 2023 (revised).
For homes bought with a mortgage, the average house price was £201,000 in April 2024 (provisional). This was similar to the average in April 2023 (revised).
Average house price in Highland was £203,000 in April 2024
The provisional average house price in Highland in April 2024 was £203,000. This was in line with the average of £204,000 in April 2023 (revised), a 0.7% change.
Across Scotland, the average house price in April 2024 was £190,000, which was more than a year earlier (£182,000).
Across Great Britain, a home sold for an average of £284,000 in April 2024, which was up slightly from the April 2023 average of £281,000.
In the year to April 2024, the average price for semi-detached properties in Highland stayed around the same over the year, while the average price for flats decreased by 1.5%.

Semi-detached properties: £190,000
Terraced properties: £145,000
Flats and maisonettes: £110,000
