DINGWALL, Dingwall & Highland Marts, (January, 15th) sold 3,225 sheep of all classes.
Lambs (1,214) averaged £54.15 and sold to £84 gross for Texels from Teanluick, Beauly (Beaton).
Breeding sheep (308) sold to £112 gross for in-lamb Cheviot gimmers from the dispersal of the Fendom flock, Tain.
Ewes (1,163) averaged £43.27 and sold to £94 gross for Texels from 1 Farm Cottage, Allanglach.
Feeding sheep (51) averaged £37.27 and sold to £70 gross for Cross wedder from Culmailly, Golspie.
Rams (459) averaged £47.65 and sold to £600 gross for a Cheviot from Achentoul, Kinbrace.
Store lambs and top quality prime ewe and rams met an excellent demand with other classes more hesitant. Breeding sheep sold at satisfactory rates.
