Scotland Food & Drink in association with Highlands & Islands Enterprise is delighted to promote the 2008 Taste of Caithness and Sutherland exhibition on Wednesday 8th October at Mackays Hotel, Wick. This exhibition will showcase the finest produce from this beautiful region.
The event is open to food related businesses as well as the general public. Food related businesses interested in sourcing produce and discovering more about the outstanding produce from the region are invited from 10.00 - 14.00pm. It is also open to the general public from 14.00pm - 16.00pm, please come along to discover the quality food and drink producers from the Caithness & Sutherland region.
Approximately 25 local producers will each have an exhibit showcasing their premium local produce ranging from meat to organic eggs, fish to oysters, honey to whisky, cheese to oatcakes.
This event follows the success of the 2007 exhibition where HRH Prince Charles was in attendance and was full of praise for the quality and range of produce. The event also saw attendance from over 80 local and regional buyers and over 20 exhibitors.

10.00 - 14.00pm - Open to businesses
As well as discovering the quality range of food and drink producers at the exhibition there will be a cooking demonstration from one of Scotland's top chef's, Tom Kitchin. In 2007 Tom won a Michelin Star (the youngest ever Scot to receive one), the award for Scotland's Chef of the Year and Restaurant of the Year (The Kitchin, Edinburgh). Tom is passionate about the region's produce and will use the finest of local ingredients in his demonstration.
Tom will be giving his cooking demonstration at 10.00 sharp so please be there with plenty of time to enjoy this unique opportunity.

14.00 - 16.00pm - Open to General Public
As well as discovering the quality range of food and drink producers at the exhibition leading chef Jacqueline O'Donnell will also be giving a food demonstration with local produce. Jacqueline has cooked alongside Antony Worrall Thompson, Jean-Christophe Novelli, Michael Caines and Lady Claire Macdonald. She also runs The Sisters restaurants in Glasgow, one of which has one the City Restaurant of the Year Award 2008.
Jacqueline will be giving her cooking demonstration at 14.00 sharp so please be there with plenty of time to enjoy this unique opportunity.
