Communities, groups and individuals are being invited to share their views in a consultation on the creation of Scotland's first new National Parks in almost 20 years.   The Scottish Government committed to establish at least one new National Park in Scotland by the end of this Parliamentary session in 2026, as part of the Bute House agreement with the Scottish Green Party and the Programme for Government.

194 New Jobcentres Open
Thousands more jobseekers are being supported into new jobs, to increase their hours and forge a career through tailored face-to-face job support.   Minister for Employment, Mims Davies MP, and Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) Lords Minister, Baroness Stedman-Scott, visited a new Jobcentre in Brighton to officially open the site and mark the completion of the programme to open almost 200 new temporary Jobcentres across Great Britain.

Early Medical Abortion At Home - Minister Confirms Current Arrangements Will Continue
Women's Health Minister Maree Todd has confirmed that early medical abortions will be able to continue at home, where it is judged clinically appropriate.   During the pandemic, women have been able to take both sets of pills required for an early medical abortion at home (EMAH).

Hospital At Home - £3.6 Million To Expand Services
A further £3.6 million is being made available to support the expansion of Hospital at Home services, with the aim of doubling current capacity by the end of 2022 The purpose of the service is to reduce hospital admissions for elderly patients by providing treatments in the comfort and familiarity of their own home.   The service enables people to receive treatments that would otherwise require them to be admitted to hospital, such as an intravenous drip or oxygen supply.

GDP First Quarterly Estimate, UK: January To March 2022
UK gross domestic product (GDP) is estimated to have increased by 0.8% in Quarter 1 (Jan to Mar) 2022, and by 8.7% compared with Quarter 1 2021.   In output terms, services increased by 0.4% with the largest contributors from information and communication, accommodation and food, and transportation and storage industries, while there was a decline in wholesale and retail.

Construction Output In Great Britain: March 2022
From the Office for National Statistics.   Monthly construction output increased by 1.7% in volume terms in March 2022; this is the fifth consecutive monthly growth and a record high in monthly level terms (£14,994 million) since monthly records began in January 2010.

DINGWALL, Dingwall & Highland Marts Ltd, (May, 11th) sold 448 store cattle and 73 OTM cattle.   Bullocks (175) averaged 241.2p per kg and sold to 281.0p per kg for a 395kg Charolais cross from Kindeace, Alness and £1,250 gross for a 570kg Beef Shorthorn from Alterwall, Lyth.
