For many years there has been a trust in Caithness that makes awards to local people for educational purposes. Applications are straighforward and can be made to The area Education Culture and Sport manager.

The fund is administered by the Area Education Manager, to whom all applications must be addressed.
The Caithness Educational Trust was set up by incorporating a number of endowments bequeathed to the
County some years ago. The invested capital generates sums of money each year which is available to applicants,
normally residents of Caithness, for projects which meet the criteria.
The local Councillors will be asked to comment on and approve any award.
The aim of the Trust is to provide financial assistance to individuals/schools/organisations in a variety of ways which'

Applicants may include course expenses, schools trips, equipment, sports facilities, music, drama and art.

or activity.
Awards may also be available to help fund projects undertaken in Caithness for the educational benefit of local
communities.
An award once agreed will be paid after appropriate receipts have been submitted.
