DINGWALL, Dingwall & Highland Marts, (January, 28th) sold 3,434 store sheep of all classes.
Lambs (2,285) averaged £51.74 and sold to £80 gross for Beltex crosses from Aberchalder Estate, Gorthleck.
Ewes (847) averaged £40.62 and sold to £80 gross for Suffolks from Galcantray Farm, Cawdor.
Rams (239) averaged £41.62 and sold to £90 gross for a Texel from Galcantray Farm.
Feeding sheep (57) averaged £36.03 and sold to £55 gross for Suffolk cross wedders from 55 Rhue, Ullapool and Cheviots wedders from East Clyne, Brora.
"Compared to the dear sale of two weeks ago, store lambs continued to rise in price, whilst prime and feeding ewes and rams sold at similar rates."
