DINGWALL, Dingwall & Highland Marts Ltd, (October, 25th) sold 535 rams at its annual show and sale of North County Hill Cheviots.
The overall champion was a four shear from Messrs Keoldale Sheep Stock Club, realising �400 to Mr A. J. Ross, Sand Street, Stornoway. The reserve champion award went to a shearling from Mr W. M. Sutherland, Brackside, Reay, realising �800 to Messrs Naddle Farm, Bampton, Cumbria.
Shearlings (80) sold to �1300 gross from Taldale, Forss.
Two shears (348) sold to �1,800 gross from Knockan, Ullapool.
Three shears (72) sold to �1,000 gross from Torrish Estate, Helmsdale.
Four shears (20) sold to �850 gross from Armadale Farm, Armadale.
Five shears (6) sold to �2,500 gross from Hethpool, Wooler.
Ram lambs (5) sold to �220 gross from Tulloch Ard, Dunbeath.
�Buyers paced themselves throughout the day creating a steady trade at very satisfactory rates.�

DINGWALL, Dingwall & Highland Marts Ltd, (April 1st) sold 8,772 sheep of all classes, including the annual spring sale of ewe lambs with an overall sale averaged of £122.09. Ewe Lambs (4,806) sold to £270 gross for a pen of Blue Texels from Broombank, Culloden Moor.
