Public Trust In Public Bodies And Companies Handling Our Data Is Little Changed
Scotland's Chief Statistician has released results on levels of trust in data from the Scottish Social Attitudes 2019: Data Trust.   The findings are drawn from the latest Scottish Social Attitudes Survey, which took place between August 2019 and March 2020, before lockdown.

Courts Playing Catch Up With Remand Cases
Scottish Labour has called for the SNP Government to step up its plans for dealing with a backlog of court cases as figures released this week show a sharp rise in remand prisoners who now make up almost a quarter of the prison population.   Recent figures from the Scottish Prison Service show that as of 23 October there were 1,717 untried prisoners in Scotland's prisons.

Highland urged to continue to prevent the spread of Covid-19
The Highland Council area has been set at Protection Level One in the Scottish Government's 5 tier framework.  This means fewer restrictions for the hospitality, retail and leisure sectors than elsewhere in the UK.

Children And Young People's Mental Health
Funding of £15 million is being made available to respond to children and young people's mental health issues, with a focus on those brought about by the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.   The funding will be distributed to local authorities to support a local response for five to 24-year-olds, their families and carers.

High Life Adult Learning secures Digital funding
The High Life Highland Adult Learning team have been successful in a funding application to the Scottish Council for Voluntary organisations.  The application was submitted to Phase 2 of Connecting Scotland and will provide access to devices for people who otherwise would be disadvantaged.
