DINGWALL, Dingwall & Highland Marts Ltd, (December, 6th) sold 1,676
sheep of all classes.
Lambs (1,220) sold to £32.30 for Mules from Lairgandour, Daviot, and
Texel crosses from No. 15 Achnairn, Shinness.
Ewes (419) sold to £38.50 for Texel and Suffolk ewes from Easter
Templand, Fortrose.
Wedders (12) sold to £32 for Texel crosses from No. 15 Achnairn.
Rams (25) sold to £33 for a Texel from Galcantray Farm, Cawdor.
"Well bred, well fleshed lambs met a firmer enquiry, leaner and
weathered sorts more difficult to cash."

QUOYBRAE, Aberdeen & Northern Marts (19th November) sold 2,772 Prime, Store & Breeding Sheep. Prime Lambs (163) sold to 72.8p a kg for 5 42.4kg Suffolks from M W & A Sutherland, Brabsterdorran and £32.50 gross for a 58kg Mule from J T M MacKay, Thura Mains.
QUOYBRAE, Aberdeen & Northern Marts (12th November) sold 333 Weaned Calves, Store & Breeding Cattle. Bullocks (167) averaged 121.9p to 226p per kg for a 239kg Limousin from J & G More, Lynton Cottage, Ulbster and £700 gross for a 559kg Limousin from M & L Armitage & Son, Lochquoy, Castletown.
QUOYBRAE, Aberdeen & Northern Marts (22nd October) sold 5,618 Store Lambs Ewe Lambs (644) averaged £33.54 and sold to £48 for Half-Breds from A Miller & Sons, Aimster, Thurso Wedder Lambs (838) averaged £23.54 and sold to £30.20 for Cheviots from G Cormack, Damside, Castletown. Cross Lambs (4,136) averaged £27.25 and sold to £33 for Suffolks from W R & M Mill, Forsie, Bridge of Westfield.
QUOYBRAE, Aberdeen and Northern Marts (October 20th) sold 104 Texel, Suffolk and Border Leicester rams and ram lambs under the auspices of the Caithness Sheep Breeders Association Champion Texel a shearling by Stockhill Kasper from R MacKay, Clyth Mains, Lybster sold for £620 to J Munro, Pitkerrie, Fearn. Reserve was a ram lamb by Miller's Miles from C and I Angus, Oldfield Farm, Thurso and sold for £350 to A Webster, Lower Reiss Farm, Wick.
QUOYBRAE, Aberdeen & Northern Marts (4th October) sold 6,852 Store Sheep Ewe Lambs (1,108) averaged £28.17 and sold to £51 for Half-Breds from C MacAdie & Sons, Skaill, Thurso Wedder Lambs (1,275) averaged £22.63 and sold to £30 for Half-Breds from J Banks, The Broo, John O'Groats. Cross Lambs (4,023) averaged £26.55 and sold to £34 for Suffolks from A S Budge, Milton Farm, Halkirk.
QUOYBRAE, Aberdeen & Northern Marts (3rd September) sold 6,133 Store Lambs at the re-sheduled first combined sale from Dunbeath, Bettyhill, Forsinard and North West Sutherland areas. Overall average was £29.06 showing a decrease of £2.05 from Dunbeath & Bettyhill areas and a decrease of £1.24 on all other areas from last year.
QUOYBRAE, Aberdeen & Northern Marts (31ST July) sold 48 Cattle and 281 Sheep at their Special Sale. Prime bullocks to 126p and £825.30 gross for a 655kg Limousin from D A Budge, Brae-edge, Castletown.
