Government Extends £1 Million Tax Break To Stimulate Investment In Uk Manufacturing
Annual Investment Allowance £1 million temporary cap will be extended until 1 January 2022.   new measures to tackle promoters of tax avoidance, including tougher sanctions and additional HMRC powers, to be consulted on this coming spring comes as the government publishes draft tax legislation on a range of measures including the Plastic Packaging Tax A £1 million tax break to stimulate investment in UK manufacturing, to support business confidence, is to be extended, HM Treasury has announced.

List Of Exempt Countries, Apart From Corfu, Crete, Rhodes, Zakynthos And Kos
UAE, Qatar, Turks and Caicos Islands, Laos, Iceland, Cambodia, Chile, and Bahrain added to list of travel corridors for the UK.   all of Greece apart from Corfu, Crete, Rhodes, Zakynthos and Kos removed from list of travel corridors for the UK following data showing a significant increase in confirmed cases.

England death rate up to 6 times higher from coronavirus during the first wave of the pandemic than the general population, Public Health England study finds.   The report, Deaths of people identified as having learning disabilities with COVID-19 in England in the Spring of 2020 examined data from The English Learning Disabilities Mortality Review (LeDeR) and NHS England's COVID-19 Patient Notification System (CPNS) which records deaths in hospital settings.

More than 1,250 new teachers and support staff have been recruited as a result of £80 million of support announced in the summer.   Education Secretary John Swinney pledged the ring-fenced package of funding to help local authorities' recruitment for the re-opening of schools.

DINGWALL, Dingwall & Highland Marts Ltd., (November, 11th) sold (403) weaned calves, store & breeding cattle including 67 Highland and Highland crosses.   Bullocks (188) averaged 216.6p per kg and sold to 280.8p per kg for a 187kg Limousin cross from Craigton, Bonar Bridge and £980 gross for a 490kg Beef Shorthorn cross from 2 Isle of Ewe, Aultbea.

Highland Council Will Continue to Hold Vacancies In Face Of Budget Deficit Caused Partly By Covid Uncertainties
Updated revenue forecast reported to Members of Highland council Whilst there still remains a great deal of uncertainty, current projections for the year end outturn position suggest a net budget overspend of £8.7m, an improvement from the £11.3m forecast overspend reported to Council in October.  This position takes into account expected sources of additional government funding.

Disabled people report delays to medical treatment
Half of disabled people who received medical care before the coronavirus (COVID-19) began said their treatment had been affected; just under one-third (29%) said they were either currently receiving treatment for only some of their conditions and around 1 in 5 (22%) said that their treatment had been cancelled or not started.   This compares with 16% of non-disabled people who received treatment for only some of their conditions and 11% whose treatment had been cancelled or not started.
