773 new cases of COVID-19 reported.   14,568 new tests for COVID-19 that reported results - 6.0% of these were positive.

DINGWALL, Dingwall & Highland Marts Ltd., (February, 16th) sold 16 prime cattle.   Prime bullocks (3) averaged 218.7p (-7.1p) and sold to 226.0p per kg twice and £1,480.30 gross.

Non-domestic Rates Relief Extended - No Charges For All Of 21/22 and more....
Retail, tourism, hospitality and aviation businesses will pay no rates during 2021-22 under proposals outlined today.   It is one of a series of measures proposed by Finance Secretary Kate Forbes following confirmation of a further £1.1 billion of consequential funding arising from UK Government coronavirus (COVID-19) spending.

Coronavirus Covid-19 Guidance On Schools Reopening In Scotland
Guidance on arrangements for the phased reopening of schools in February/March 2021.   Purpose This guidance has been issued in response to the First Minister's statement to Parliament on 2 February 2021 announcing a phased return to in-person learning in schools from 22 February which was confirmed on 16 February.

Remote Learning To Continue For Majority of Pupils In Scotland
The majority of primary and secondary school pupils will continue with remote learning until at least mid-March while children in early learning and childcare (ELC) and primaries 1 to 3 will return full-time to classrooms from Monday 22 February.   First Minister Nicola Sturgeon confirmed that only strictly limited numbers of children and young people will return to classrooms next week, backed by strengthened school safety guidance and an enhanced testing for staff and senior pupils.

Young People Helped With Costs Of New Job
The Scottish Government has paid out more than £190,000 to eligible young people to help with the costs of starting a new job.   A total of 695 successful applications were made for the new Job Start Payment from its launch on 17 August 2020 to 31 December 2020.
