Council highlights the development potential of the North West Coast of Scotland
Members of The Highland Council have unanimously supported the response sent to the Scottish Government requesting that the North West coast of Scotland be recognised as an Area of Coordinated Action in the National Planning Framework 3 (NPF3). Temporary road closure during Feshie Bridge works
Road users are being advised by The Highland Council that from Monday 2nd September until Saturday 21st September 2013 essential maintenance works will be carried out to Feshie Bridge which will require a temporary road closure on a short length of the B970 Kingussie – Speybridge Road over Feshie Bridge. The length of road affected will be from the U2094 Achlean Road junction with the B970 road.21/8/2013

Council reminds rural petrol stations of proposed extension to rural fuel rebate scheme
The Highland Council has written to rural petrol filling station operators throughout the Highlands who do not currently receive rural fuel rebate, to remind them that they have until 4 September 2013 to respond to the HM Treasury Call for information on the “Proposed extension of the rural fuel rebate scheme”. Councillor Drew Millar, Highland Council’s Campaign Lead on Fuel Prices said: “The Highland Council’s programme is committed to working with partners to secure fair fuel prices across the area.20/8/2013

Wick To Receive Huge Volume Of Nuclear Records At New Archive Centre By 2016
Dounreay's huge collection of historic documents will be among the first items to be stored in the new archive to be built in Caithness. The National Nuclear Archive is due to be open for business by 2016, said NDA's director for Dounreay, Nigel Lowe.18/8/2013

Temporary closure of the B9176 Struie Road
The Highland Council is advising drivers that the B9176 Struie Road will be temporarily closed to through traffic on Tuesday 27th August 2013 between 0900 hours and 1530 hours. The closure to traffic travelling both north and south is to allow for essential bridge inspections to take place.17/8/2013
