Natural Products Conference 2013
21st August 2013
25 September 2013 to 26 September 2013
The Highlands and Islands of Scotland’s unique marine environment and maritime climate supports a rich source of natural products and active compounds. Growth in the global market is predicted to rise to £132bn for functional food and drink and £176bn for cosmetics by 2017. The region's natural assets combined with a growing level of expertise, innovation and research in this field provides a significant commercial and business opportunity.
The Natural Products Conference 2013 on Wednesday 25 and Thursday 26 September at the Scottish Association of Marine Science and European Marine Science Park, will be an important event for anyone interested in the opportunities presented by the developing area of high value natural products. The conference will feature presentations from global leaders across the sector and provide an opportunity to stimulate innovation and interaction across the growing community.
The two day programme will feature presentations, discussions and breakout sessions on products derived from our region’s natural environment such as seaweed, crops and microalgae extracts and their application in drug discovery, bio-energy, nutriceuticals, cosmetics and functional foods. More specialist sessions will cover how to commercialise your ideas and research, how to scale up production, access to finance, and regulatory and intellectual property issues.
An opportunity to pitch your business and develop links with colleagues and partners looking to collaborate will be available with a partnering session. A networking dinner will round off the evening on Wednesday 25 September – an ideal opportunity to make valuable new contacts and renew old connections.
A two day delegate pass including the networking dinner costs £95 per person. To order your delegate pass using a card booking, please register using eventbrite below.
