LOCHMADDY, Dingwall & Highland Marts Ltd., (October, 20th) sold 355 store cattle and 9 breeding cattle.
The judge Mr James Cowie, Glasshaugh, chose a 425kg Limousin bullock as his champion and a 510kg Limousin bullock as the reserve champion both from No. 16 Tigharry, Lochmaddy, realising �810 and �850 respectively to the judge.
Bullocks (207) averaged 151.6p and sold to 209p per kg for a pen of 335kg Limousins from No. 38 Linique, Eochar, and �850 gross for a 510kg Limousin from No. 16 Tigharry.
Heifers (146) averaged 143.4p and sold to 215p per kg for a pen of 200kg Charolais crosses from No. 1 Clachan Farm, Lochmaddy, and �810 gross for a 520kg Limousin from No. 16 Tigharry.
Young bulls (two) averaged 132.3p and sold to 133.3p per kg and �440 gross for a 330kg Limousin from No. 10 Knockline, Bayhead.
Breeding cattle (9) sold to �1,320 gross for an in calf Limousin heifer from No. 1 Ahmore, Lochmaddy.
