With Scottish Bakers members out in force for their annual conference in Glasgow, the baker was presented their prize by Scottish Bakers' Ambassador Mich Turner MBE. He said, "With nearly 500 products from 57 bakers entered and with each product assessed for appearance, the quality of the bake and taste, Reids of Caithness should be very proud of their success.

Scottish Baker of the Year 2022/3 shortlist announced and Reid's of Caithness is in the running Reid’s of Caithness of Thurso has made it to the shortlist of the 10th Scottish Baker of the Year Awards following the annual judging day held in Dunfermline earlier this month. With Scottish Bakers members each asked to put forward 10 of their star products to be taste tested by some 55 industry experts - nearly 500 products from 57 bakers were delivered for the judges to assess for appearance, the quality of the bake and taste.3/2/2022
New Plans for Castletown Mill From Dunnet Bay Distillers
Dunnet Bay Distillers has submitted a planning application to Highland Council asking permission to refurbish a 200 year-old mill and surrounding land at Castletown, near its headquarters. The Caithness company produce the Rock Rose Gin and Holy Grass Vodka brands and took over the mill last year.

Highland Seaweed Firm Embarks On Expansion After £1.7m Investment
SHORe the Scottish Seaweed Company (SHORE), the trading name of the Alness based seaweed processing company New Wave Foods Ltd, has expanded its product range having secured a £1.7million finance package. The company has one of its bases at the industrial estate near Wick airport.

Dunnet Bay Distillers Is Scottish Gin Distillery Of The Year At The Scottish Gin Awards 2019
The national awards programme which celebrates excellence in Scottish gin has revealed the names of the best gins made in Scotland this year, as part of its 3rd annual competition. The Scottish Gin Awards revealed the winners last night following a rigorous judging process involving 30 leading experts from across the UK, the assessment of 104 written entries and the blind tasting of 173 gins, all distilled in Scotland.

The UK's most northerly mainland distillery, Dunnet Bay Distillers, is scouring the UK for exceptional artwork to feature in its debut exhibition, ‘Inspired by Gin'. The distillery will play host to the exhibition from December 2019 - March 2020 at its new Visitor Centre, which is a VisitScotland 5 Star Visitor Attraction and a centre for food and drink, culture and heritage tourism.
