PORTREE, Dingwall and Highland Marts Ltd., (October, 13th) sold 302 weaned calves and 34 adult head of breeding cattle.
Bullocks (155) averaged 156p and sold to 203.3p per kg for a 150kg Limousin from No. 5 Brogaig, Staffin and £570 gross for 410kg Limousins from No. 8 Balmeanach, Struan.
Heifers (144) averaged 142.1p and sold to 187.1p per kg for a 155kg Limousin from No. 27 Stenscholl, Staffin and £540 gross for a 375kg Limousin from Trien Croft, Carbost.
Young bulls (3) averaged 143.8p and sold to 150p per kg and £300 gross or a Charolais cross from Trien Croft.
In-calf cows (26) sold to £1000 gross for an in calf Limousin from No. 11 Borreraig, Dunvegan.
Cows with calves at foot (6) sold to £840 gross from a Limousin cow with male calf from No, 4 Heaste, Broadford.
Bulls sold to £840 for a Limousin from No. 3 Glen, Claigan.
