DINGWALL, Dingwall & Highland Marts, (February, 25th) sold 3,906 store lambs, breeding & feeding sheep.
Lambs (2,246) averaged £48.52 and sold to £87.50 gross for Texels from Woodside, Muir of Ord.
Ewes (1128) averaged £44.06 and sold to £99 gross for Suffolks from Cantraybridge College, Croy.
Rams (126) averaged £50.65 and sold to £87 gross for a Cheviot from 185 Migdale, Bonar Bridge.
Feeding sheep (45) averaged £35.74 and sold to £64 gross for a Texel gimmer from Lower Seafield, Portmahomack.
Gimmers in lamb (33) averaged £43.85 and sold to £102 gross for a Texel scanned with twins to a Zwartble from 7 Ferrindonald, Isle of Skye.
Ewes in lamb (328) averaged £52.95 and sold to £88 gross for Half Breds scanned with twins to a Texel from Lower Gledfield, Ardgay.
"Store lambs and breeding ewes met an excellent demand while quality considered prime and feeding ewes showed an increase on the keen demand of the last sale."
