DINGWALL, Dingwall & Highland Marts Ltd., (August 11h) sold 8,040 store lambs at their annual district sale to average �47.22 (+�15.78 on the year).
Cheviot wedder lambs (4,489) averaged �47.54 (+�14.65) and sold to �64 gross for a single from 27 Portgower, Helmsdale.
Cheviot ewe lambs (2,466) averaged �45.76 (+�15.67) and sold to �69 gross for a pen of fifteen from 91/92 Achviach, Dornoch.
Texel cross lambs (781) averaged �51.02 (+�16.60) and sold to �63.50 gross for a single from Lower Arboll Tain.
Suffolk cross lambs (225) averaged �49.15 (+�15.53) and sold to �59.50 gross for a pen from Lower Gartally, Drumnadrochit.
Cross lambs (79) averaged �43.57 (+�14.14) and sold to �48.00 gross for a pen from 199 Lednabirichen, Dornoch.
"Lambs were shown in excellent bloom, the sale average showed an increase of �15.78 in part, due to the quality of lambs. Sellers were more than happy with the increased trade."
