Slickly Wind Farm Connection Project

Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks - Slickly Wind Farm Connection Project is holding two public consultation events on Wednesday, 25th January 2023.

The transmission network gathers energy from power stations, hydroelectric generation schemes, and wind farms and carries it to areas of demand. We work with the Transmission System Operator, National Grid, who is responsible for operating the transmission network across Great Britain to ensure that power flows smoothly and reliably across our network.

A request has been made to National Grid by the developer of Slickly Wind Farm to provide a connection to the transmission network. To facilitate this, we are proposing to construct a new 132kV overhead line. Under our Network Operators License this connection should be efficient, co-ordinated, and economic, whilst having the least possible impact on the environment.
