OVERALL CHAMPION - East Murkle, Suffolk Shearling
RESERVE CHAMPION – Kennachy Texel Shearling
"Dingwall Marts ‘Tuptastic' event certainly was another spectacle to behold. A packed ringside of purchasers from every corner of the North of Scotland were present ensuring a fantastic trade throughout. The mornings first event was the pre-sale show which was once again kindly sponsored by Norvite and this year was judged by the infamous Mr Liam Muir from Orkney. The Dingwall vendors once again did not disappoint, presenting an array of quality stock. Mr Muir tapped out the days Overall Champion from the Suffolk section which was shown by Caithness Raiders B. & L. Swanson, East Murkle, realising £2,000. Reserve Champion was awarded to another Caithness consigner, Mr W. Bain, Kennachy, with their Texel Shearling Champion. This powerhouse of a tup was knocked down at £1,600. The same stable shared the days top price of £2,000 for another Texel Shearling with this fantastic home achieving a phenomenal average of £1,225 for their grass-fed shearlings."
