"Prime hogg trade remains strong as averages rose on the week once again. More hopper fed hoggs were forward this week however numbers are beginning to tighten which aided to the increase in values. The sequel to yesterday's castle thriller wasn't long in happening as today’s cull ewe trade was absolutely phenomenal. The ring was packed with heavy travelled sheep from returning and new vendors inquisitive of what the Dingwall arena has to offer. It was a certain Mr Blackhall, The Green whose Banchory Bulldozers smashed their way through our record books. His pair of weight bag pure Texels realized £360 smashing our previous best of £330. All in all over 20 lots surpassed the £200 barrier as the larger than usual ringside of buyers couldn’t believe the power presented to them as its not what they’re used to. The ferocious trade blazed through all classes of ewes as the usual barrage of Cheviots and hill ewes were present, culminating in a phenomenal average of £136 per head."
