Local Business Gains Prince's Trust Award

Jennifer Easton gained a prestigious award in the Prince's Scottish Youth Business Awards this week. At a presentation ceremony aboard Jacobite Queen on the Caledonian Canal.
In January 2010 Jennifer obtained a grant from the trust for a market test to have her own professionla photo shoot done to show case her designs.
The designs were well received and after careful thought and consideration she pursued further funding to enable her to set up her business.
JAED (Jennifer Ann Easton Designs) was established on 6 th april 2010 and in December 2010 Jennifier opened her first shop in High Street, Wick.
Jennifer studied Clothing design and manufacture at Scottish Borders school of Textiles - Heriot Watt. After graduating in 2008 with a BSC honours she was involved in many different areas of the fashion industry througout the UK such as merchandising, retail and buying but she kept coming to the same conclusion...designing her own clothes was the route for her.
Jennifer was chosen as the runner up in this years prize list.
Councillor Bill Fernie was there to congratulate her on her award that was presented by councillor Helen Carmichael the chair of PSYBT.
