STORNOWAY, Dingwall & Highland Marts Ltd., (November, 20th ) sold 9 prime cattle at its Christmas Show & Sale kindly sponsored by the Lewis and Harris Auction Mart and judged by J M Matheson, 30 Gravir, South Lochs.
Prime bullocks (8) sold to 330p per kg for a 635kg Limousin cross, (Supreme Champion), from 1B Breasclete Park, Callanish, and £2,100.00 gross for a 700kg Aberdeen Angus cross (Reserve Champion), from 1 Gress, Back and averaged 256.6p.
Prime heifers (one) sold to 290p per kg and £1,580.50 gross for a 545kg Aberdeen Angus cross from 1 Gress, Back.
Leading prices per kg:
Bullocks: 1 Gress, (AAX), 300p; 3 North Street, Sandwick, (LimX), 250p; 42 South Bragar, Barvas, (AA), 245p.
Leading prices per head:
Bullocks: 1B Breastclete Park, (LimX), £2,095.50; 3 North Street, (LimX), £1,562.50; 42 South Bragar, (AA), £1,359.75.

Reserve champion pen of lambs – D J Murray, 7B Shader, for a pen of 39kg blackface lambs selling at £68 gross.
New season lambs (22) averaged 165.7p and sold to 309.3p per kg and £150.00 gross for a pen of 48.5kg Beltex crosses from Sheshader, Point.
