DINGWALL, Dingwall & Highland Marts Ltd., (December, 18th) sold 31 MV accredited pedigree females at its annual show and sale.
The judge, Mr Philip Gill, Wester Raddery, Fortrose, awarded the Suffolk champion and overall interbreed champion to a gimmer by Glenhead Gibbs, carrying a single to Binhill Champagne Charlie, from Mr R. Henderson, Barry House, Glenbarry, and realising 680gns. Reserve in the Suffolk section went to a ewe lamb also by Glenhead Gibbs and consigned by Mr Henderson, realising 580gns.
Texel champion was awarded to an Ettrick Smasher gimmer carrying a pair to Deveronvale Union Jack, consigned from Brian Buchan, Clinterty, New Aberdour, realising 800gns. She also went on to take the reserve overall interbreed award. The reserve Texel award went to John Peterkin, Barnyards, Beauly, with a Castlecairn Secret Agent gimmer carrying twins to Ettrick Under Orders, realising 320gns.
In the Beltex section, champion went to an Ainstable Nassau gimmer carrying a single to Clary Royalty, from Mr A. W. Mackintosh, Livetside, Newtonmore. The reserve award went to a Walkerdyke Lance ewe from Messrs M. & I. Bissett, Mariain, Evanton.
In lamb gimmers: Texel sold to 800gns from Clinterty, New Aberdour. Suffolk sold to 680gns from Barry House, Glenbarry. Beltex sold to 300gns from Livetside, Newtonmore.
In lamb ewes: Texel sold to 200gns from Barnyards, Beauly.
Ewe lambs: Suffolk sold to 580gns from Barry House. Beltex sold to 160gns from Mariain.

Texel: In lamb gimmers – North Dorlaithers, Turriff, and Clinterty, 750gns; Cherryfield, Muthill, 650gns; Barnyards, 600gns.
